I have been a supporter of the Southern Scotland Golden Eagle Project since its inception and I've been lucky enough to spot one of their birds in the wild. This is great news and encouraging for al involved There is more info on their web pages and a good write up on Raptor Persecution UK web pages

I just thought I should make sure. Is this the website pages you meant?

Thanks. I thought I should just make sure. I would of sent a screenshot instead but unable to send photos and screenshots at the moment. But You can understand why it is upsetting for some people. With the persecution thing though the RSPB have done a bird of prey apeal called bird of prey defenders where you can become a bird of prey defender and donate but no one has donated to it and only donated to the other appeals so I did a forum on the apeal and also pointed it out and sent something that tells you where to report wildlife crime and how aswell. Hopefully that will help give people more hope aswell. did it In the conservation news section and you can find it in search. interestingly if you put bird of prey defender you can find it very quickly compared to Bird of prey apeal. Maybe some people could scroll down on that golden eagle link. Luckily it’s only 2 or 3 posts away so they don’t have to go far to find the golden eagle news. I found out that golden eagles used to live in England until they declined. The white tailed eagle has been reintroduced to the isle of weight I think it was. I didnt know any further updates on the golden eagle though until yesterday. Its very interesting
Yes Zo, Golden Eagles last bred in Cumbria, the female died in 2004 I think and the male tried to attract a mate for a number of years but is thought to have died a few years later.
