We're humans, Pete. Think, "pee" and "nuts". (An old study.)
Yesterday in a shop I was served by a young man who wore his obligatory face mask around his jaw.
I was inquiring about tortoises, so assumed that he was half-man, half-fish, and was covering his gills.
I'll go back. I'm a big fan of trans-species equal opportunity employers.
If anything really mean comes along, we won't stand a chance. And the weevils will be laughing all the way to World Domination.
;-)

PS. Little or no Bird Flu here; we inquired a few days ago when we lost a Coal tit (probably to Trich').

Iv sent the donate link in case anyone wants to donate on this forum as well as sending reports about the Bird flu on the forum. This way Even if or when they dont get or find any news or reports they can still help by donateing if they want to. so I thought this would be helpful for the forum. It does lead to the RSPB website where you can acsess information about the Bird flu and it has news aswell as the option to donate to help control the outbreak www.rspb.org.uk/.../
Whitby has had some birds culled, that could be the reasoning behind the DEFRA note.
