Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
As it's only about 1 hour from home we normally may have been tempted but we are in Northumberland until Friday plus I'm trying to avoid busy sreas at the moment as my immune system is shot due to my meds. We had a gentle twitch yesterday for the Red Eyef Vireo on Lindisfarne which we bumped into, no crowds luckily

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Likewise, I'll not be travelling either.
Noted on your meds Pete.
While I'm itching to get out I'm just getting back to action after having a root extraction, and while it doesn't hurt, it is tender and being on anticoags, has taken a while to dry up.

I've heard that some of them wear extensions, just to pull the crowds in.
If you get the bird in the hand, give those "long" toes a good pull I say.

Gives a different meaning if you move the quote mark.... long "toes"!!
