So vigilant in horrible conditions .. Still remember the poor creatures incubating in the snow last year, followed by all that appalling rain!! Thanks for posting D!
Maybe just wants a small family this year!!
If the food supply is poor then less eggs will be laid
at first I thought the female was having trouble laying
but the way she is incubating makes me think she is happy with two, as far as I know they don't incubate while all eggs are laid, thus all the young hatch very close together.
If she lays anymore there is going to be a few days difference with the chicks and older chicks may bully or kill them
