I watched Crimewatch live this morning on BBC 1 from 10am - 10:45am
I would think 8 minutes before the end of the programme (of 45 mins)of an article appeared about the 5 Goshawks that which where found dead in the Wordwell, Bury St Edmunds, and Thetford areas of the UK. I wish the article was longer but there you go.
There is now a 16,000 pound award for anyone who can help with Police enquires and led to a conviction
So at least this incident has has been taken seriously by the Police and placed on Crimewatch Live as it should be (about time too)
Regards
Kathy and Dave
The crime might be taken seriously! The problem is when that goes to court. Most times a suspended sentence or just a small fine. I’ve seen that sadly, happen many times! Not just with killing of raptors but other wildlife crine. As long as lenient sentencing in courts happen in the UK. Wildlife crime will sadly continue!

In reply to THOMO:
We can only keep hoping that killing BoP's is taken a lot more seriously. If evidence is there, with known illegal poisons (illegal ones is the main fact) - it should be considered murder in my mind If a person is keeping illegal poisons in a shed or wherever it is as bad a having an illegal gun. You do not know why anyone would keep an illegal gun or poisons except to do some evil act that is against the law to a person or an animal simple as that. If it is stated the landowner is to kill vernon or anything else that the landowner does not like there is a good chance that it will kill unintended victims too - for example killing rabbits means killing raptures Just not making poisons available all together is as simple as that From my own personal experience I remember DDT powder from many years ago, and now it is considered dangerous. I remember my pony getting lice and me flicking DDT powder all over his coat to kill the lice which it did. No protection at all. The vets advice was to buy DDT powder at the that time in the 70's These days it would not be allowed for obvious reasons. Scary thought.
I also meant to say that these particular bird all had gun shot in after x-rays where taken and they where all young birds... Some human tempering had been involved where it was thought that the raptures had been frozen, and some feathers implanted to replace missing feathers So the finger could be pointed in any direction and it is not necessarily the landowners at fault
