Wasn't Chris's section on bird colour tonight fascinating? Well its been a bit of a grey day today here at the Lodge, so I could really do with seeing some of your colourful birds photos here.

Nothing colourful here today :-( but I`ve just had a trompe l'oeil oil painting of some birds done for me.I have given them the right to reside on my wall in Britain. :-) Here`s some detail from it.
Or.........Hows about the backdrop making up for my monochromatic snap of a peewit.
I am really enjoying Springwatch.Am now confident enough (after tonights prog.) to state that the suet coloured patch on the GSW`s forehead is there to attract......erm.........Suet pellets.

Wow! Thank you all for posting your bird photos, there are some real splashes of riotous colour there - what's not to like :)
I'm going to cheat here
Since the photo was taken in London Zoo, I hereby declare this Lilac Breasted Roller to be an honorary British bird ;-)

They're the posers of the bird world. I've seen them in the wild and they still pose for photos 😊
