Went to a dog rescue centre yesterday and spotted this RSPB reserve nearby. Anyone been? Any good?
I haven't been but I know there's another reserve very close by, West Sedgemoor, that's a good place for spotting cranes
Is that Somerset? If it's where I think we went probably 3years ago, heronry with screen, then a pleasant walk through woods. There was fenced of area in the middle, but can't remember reason for it being fenced. If mobile, Greylake is more varied
It is in Somerset, near Langport. I just saw a sign for it as we were driving. Apparently one of the three trails is closed, so may not be much good?
If I remember rightly, the viewing screen to the heronry is only a short distance from the car park, so wouldn't class that as a trail. I only really remember it being a loop, but my medication does play havoc with my memory sometimes!

West Sedgemoor is normally closed except a public footpath around the edge of the reserve. In the winter months there are guided walks on to the reserve. By booking in advance.

Ian.
