A week ago Limpy and I made it to Snettisham for the first time. Sadly, the wader murmuration didn't happen but that doesn't mean we saw nothing .........
On the mud flats in front of the Rotary hide were the most obliging dunlin ever!
I wasn't in the hide to take these .......... they really came this close!
This one's clearly getting a bit bored of the attention.
Wigeon are one of my favourite winter birds. Their colours are beautiful.
There were loads of little egrets about.
Coming in for its usual graceful landing.
Woo Hoo! A beautiful grey plover. You may have guessed I don't see these very often.
Maybe one day I'll catch it in breeding plumage.
Finishing with a wave of what I was reliably informed to be pink-footed geese. They certainly weren't anything I'm familiar with, judging from the weird noises they were making!
Enjoy.
By the way, where's the Snettisham forum?
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
