Arundal wetlands centre

A while back, I went to the arundel wetlands centre, arundel. I was amazed by how many birds there were. They were all alowed to fly around and leave then come back again. There were also a lot of insects, squirrels, and other garden animals, including water voles. There was also a little boat ride where you can go through the boggy lake were creatures make their nests. I definitely recomend arundal wetlands centre  click here ---> http://www.wwt.org.uk/visit/arundel/

  • I've been to Arundel WWT a few times. It is a beautiful place. Like most WWT centres it has a collection of exotic wildfowl which are wing-clipped, but is also used by loads of wild birds. Had some of my best ever views of Water Rails there.

  • It is an amazing place, rain or shine. I went in the summer last year, and its just fascinating. I really recommend it if anyone hasn't been there yet. It's cheap, and you don't just have to visit to see wildlife, you can simply visit just visit to have peace and quiet.  There's not many children that visit so its a perfect getaway. You can sign up and recive freebies if you donate, and if your lucky the time you go, you may see hatchlings .

  • I used to visit Arundel every summer when I went to stay with my Grandma. I gradually became more interested in seeing what wild birds I could find instead of looking at the collection!

Wildfowl & wetlands trust sites like this are great for people who are developing an interest in birds - the collection guarantees that there will be something interesting to see, and there are wild areas for those who want more of a challenge with finding and identifying their 'own' birds.

Visiting wildfowl collections can be a good way to get to know how to identify wildfowl in the wild as well, especially if you are able to visit regularly to really get to know the different plumages (especially how juvenile and eclipse plumages compare with females in the late summer).

  • Great. Ever since my first visit I have been so much more interested in wildlife , I already was, but I have been doing a lot more for it :)
