While travelling about wth my bird group in Spain, we came across rows of other bird groups which had congregated in one area if the roadway. We stopped for a look like you do to ask what was going on. People stood with their cameras, and scopes aimed over the top of a wooden fence, and down an embankment of trees - people all looking at one another, all rather excited pointing over the fence Dave and I stood and asked what was going in and it was confirmed that there was Red Necked Nightjar sitting behind some spindly moss laden trees. It took us a while to see the outline of the bird because it was so well camouflaged in the undergrowth. So we took a few photos, and hoped for the best and this was the best of the photos that we took of the bird. Great tick to add but I tend not to do that but have a bird list to efer to instead.in my notes.
For me I usually remember the birds I see even ones I havnt taken a photo of. Cause I got a good memory for things from the past and past leading up to present aswell and my memory is very detailed which is why my drawings are the same. And I’m very detail oriented. However as A consequence of having a very good memory for information and exspeariances and what not I’m not as good at remembering my things I take with me. Iv gone through more than 5 water bottles. My family find it rather amusing Iv left a water bottle behind in all sorts of places, Highfield in Gloucestershire, stop off points on the moterway where I usually see a red Kite of course. So near Reading. and on holiday to places like The south coast, east coast, east anglia, it’s like I leave traces. I used to have a Wildlife water bottle but I wasn’t keen on it in the long term cause it was made of metal and metal can be in necacerilly noisy and hurt my ears cause of My hypersensitive hearing as part of my Autism but likened the animal on the front of it. It was green like grass so it was very well camflauged since I sat in grass a lot watching the grasshoppers and crickets that are also the same colour and other insects so was easy to miss it. I got a new one not made of metal that is made of plastic cause there not as noisy as metal and it’s not the same colour as my surroundings when I’m taking photos of Wildlife so that’s much better. It used to be my Camara and glasses more often though. Or things like drawings or binoculars, however I do tend to loose my camara in the house sometimes so I’m very bad at not leaving things behind so I usually take a rucksack for my phone and I pad for taking photos of Wildlife but usually have my phone in my pocket and I pad in the backpack but sometimes both. Cause I can remember birds Iv seen on my trips and adventures I don’t carry any lists or anything to write down what Iv seen. And usually only take paper to draw so Its not just a memory and I can show people but usually only take it if I’m having problems with battery or my devices act up or I can’t take photos of things I really wanted to take photos of and want to show people. but after Iv been on a lot of trips I like writhing down things from all my photos and (all) the things i remember that I didn’t get a photo of on those trips cause I like taking part in projects related to Wildlife and conservation. but mainly cause I like making my own Wildlife projects cause I like coming with Wildlife project Ideas and making my own Wildlife projects and ones I come up with which just so happens to be helpful for conservation so I do also contribute to things like NBN Atlas and I record and bird track or anything else that may find my sightings helpful that I’m keeping track of in each location I visit to do wildlife watching
I can’t say anything about birds in Menorca Spain cause I used to go there a lot when I had a phobia of domestic animals and Wildlife so it was before my interest in Wildlife I avoided them and preferred to stay away from Birds cause of my fear. My focus was the beach and going in the water mainly and My other special interests cause of that didn’t notice any birds or any other wildlife. I couldn’t go after I overcame my fear of Wildlife cause my family didn’t have enough money to go there anymore. I’m hoping to go to Spain in the future cause I want to see the wildlife there.

I know that you can see Nightjars in parts of Wales. iolo Williams has had them on his Wildlife programmes on TV . We get a lot of his programmes on a regular basis here in Wales. The best time to see Nightjars is in evening time just before sunset. They make the amazing whirling sounding calls like no other bird call.while in flight.. In flight they look very wooden, and fly with their wings straight up and down like stiff boards and that makes them distinctive as well.
Add on - I also meant to say that Nightjars are nocturnal, so the one I saw was probably sleeping

My adorable and very cheeky Azure Magpies. They know their food and part of my Bird Wildlife trip was to collect a bag of Apples which they love. Love for photo opportunities, and the apples proved successful as these photo's show
