To blog or not to blog

    Hi Wendy,
That's very kind. But when I've acclimatised to the increased in altitude, I'll be more boring than I ever was (and that is saying something), believe me.
Doesn't mean I won't do it, of course.

    All the best -
    Dave

Thank you Catlady. We've 'met', you and I, as you've commented on a few of my posts over the years. Nice to hear from you again. You must see some interesting things up top there?

For our part, we've continued talking with people about our new home (contracts to sign, etc., which might go some way to explaining why I've not answered these last few days), and have discovered that there are Lynx just behind the house in the forest. I've caught a couple of possible glimpses here over the years; I look forward to being a little luckier once we move.

    All the best -
    Dave
  • Good luck with the new house, Dave.
You have a good way with words and a droll sense of humour so looking forward to hearing about your new environment when you have settled in.

Hi Dave, before I read on I was thinking, who on earth is Dave and where have we met, I have no recollection! Then I realised and remembered, it was on here! Wow, would be great for you to see the Lynx, better not go out in the dark though! All the best so the move to the new house.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • Dave, If you have not found a note (with a birding blog link) in the private messaging system here on the forum a few days ago please let me know and I'll try again.

    Kind regards, Ann

Thank you Tony, that's very kind of you.

Re the new environment (only 45 minutes away from here), the Jura's, unsurprisingly, a migration corridor, so spring and autumn should be interesting times (and there are Golden Eagles just up the hill).

Should be interesting, I'd say (once we've recovered from the move...)
  • In reply to HAZY:

    Thank you Hazel. Will do.
  • In reply to Catlady:

Yes Catlady; 'met' not met. Sort of thing.

Thanks for the kind words. And no, I don't think I'll be taking many midnight walks.

Still, it could be worse. Friends in Tuscany have wolves. And while that's probably not a problem, they're a little more cautious than they used to be, just to be on the safe side.

Just about to answer you now Ann.
