My best Mustelid experience by far. It was at Shapwick Heath, and was so curious, popping it's head up and coming back occasionally.
Judging by it's fearless nature and colouring, I'm guessing it could be a mink. The tail looks short though, so perhaps it's young?
Any expert identifications welcome!
Indeed a Mink
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Seconded. Not a welcome sight. The site management team may like to know about this.
Good photos. Yes definitely American Mink. Not a welcome species from a wildlife conservation point of view. Lovely creatures when in their natural native habitat, that would be America rather than UK though.
