I don't know why but, I don't visit here that often, it's only 12 miles away except, the bridge at Dillavaird is down and has been for some time, maybe that's enough to deter me?
Anyway, I popped over this morning, it's a pretty dank morning but, I thought it would be quiet and it was, in every sense. That said, the Marsh Harrier female popped onto a mostly convenient branch and posed for me for a few minutes. Which was nice
Fabulous shot Scozmos... I'm still waiting to get a really good one of a marshie
Thanks PimperneBloke I was really chuffed when she sat up there! Just need those grasses trimmed a bit
very nice ....it's still on the long list of things to see for me sadly
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Lovely photo capture Scozmos, they are lovely raptors to see

Lovely photo, of one of natures many fine species.
Dillavaird is not an area I know, so I'm unable to comment on the bridge closure, though a lot will depend on the alternative(s) roads to access the location.

It was until very recently for me too Linda257 now hoping to catch the young out and about. (no need to pardon here)
Thank you HAZY it was all down to her choosing to pose for me
Morning Mike B it's just a very old bridge across the river Isla near us but, it stops a direct run to Kinnordy, 12 / 13 miles, instead of 7! Hardly a show stopper ut, I often get side-tracked off up to the local reservoirs
Out of interest, how will you separate a young marsh harrier from the bird in your photo?
Nice photos. Do you have any others of it?
Morning stealthybutnotthatstealthy I wouldn't know a young one apart from perhaps behaviour so, that said, I had a feeling this could be a young bird by some of the earlier shots. Yes, I took as many as she allowed, until she took off. In a couple, she's almost wing flapping for food? I'll add a couple more.
