Dragonflys and damselflys 2023

Just watching an interesting David Attenborough programme 'Deagons & Damsels' on Sky Mix on freeview CH 11

Edit:  A fabulous programme, so well filmed and offering a great insight into these creatures lives plus talking about Willow Emeralds being an invader since 2007 and a marker of climate change ... well worth watching if you can get it on playback!

Saw what I anticipate to be the last dragonfly sighting of 2023 that I'll see in these parts.

The wee beastie must've not been up to proper operating temperature as one of my moggies had caught it. And then proceeded to ingest it.

ID not totally sure, as on;y part of the adbomen was seen, but possibly a southern hawker (as I know they breed in the pond).

That's a bit sad!

I was reading on t'internet yesterday that Sir David Attenborough is the only person to have been knighted twice. I wonder if they call him Sir Sir David, or would that just be people with a stammer ...

I was unaware of that fact BD!
