I keep forgetting about this thread. So many to keep up with and decide which to post it.
We've seen more dragonflies in our garden than in previous years. Not exactly buzzing with them, but they do drift in and hang around - very unusual.
This landed on rose bush just after we finished lunch in garden - fairly rare this year due to weather. I crept into house and crept out again with R7 and big lens. This dragonfly was very accommodating, hung around for ages, even if it did move around a tad.
Not only was I able to get close to the beastie (the nearest possible with my lens - which is still about 10 feet away), it was sunny, not windy or raining. Blimey.
I was able to move around the beastie, taking reasonably interesting shots.
Then it decided to move around garden, with me in slow pursuit.
It moved its wings about.
I decided to have a bit of fun and really crop some of the images. Still required a bit of sharpening up in Faststone.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
