Blacktoft Sands and St Aidans RSPB Nature Reserves see what I saw

I decided that I would visit  RSPB Blacktoft Sands 27th March 2023. On arrival I was told that only one hide was available due to the paths leading to the other hides were flooded. So I walked to the hide that was available only to find as expected it was quite busy, but i managed to get a seat and I was so glad I did. I had only ever seen Avocets before from photos and there in front of me was an Avocet, I was so pleased to see one and it didn't end there as you will see from the photos below.

With the only one hide available I decided that I would head back to RSPB St Aidans with a few more hours available, why not. The first look in the binoculars to the left hand field I saw a small bird heading my way and it landed within 20m of me see photo.
