Frocester Hill, Gloucestershire 20th March

Frocester Hill

Massive flock of gulls fly overhead over  the car

    More birds

Once we got to Frocester Hill the Rooks

were unsettled cause of a digger doing a circuit round so some decided to head for the River Severn while I decided to stand away from the noise whenever it came past but some stayed

I saw some Green Alkanet it’s in the forget me not family but is an introduced species but attracts Butterflys and moths and Bumblebees

i watched the Rooks and used my binoculars and took photos of them

at one point one put something in the other Rooks mouth it left then came back for more but I didn’t manage to catch it I got other shots of the Rooks though

After that it rained so I went to go back to the car and I heard an interesting call so I followed the call which led me to a Great Tit so I did some recording of a Great Tit then it flew off low over my head and I went in the car then it was time to go

  • It was definitely interesting when I watching one of the rooks feed another through my binoculars even though I didn’t manage to film it

  • An excellent report. It can hear a Great Tit making teacher calls outside my bedroom window at the moment. Might have been replying to your recording I just played because I have my bedroom window open for a short while before the next rain storm hits

  • It’s Not the main topic of the post but part of my trip it was mainly before I left and coincidentally up high abouve the brambles next to the car one of the most exiting parts of my trip was the Rook feeding the other Rook I don’t know what it was feeding the Rook but it put it down it’s mouth

  • In reply to Zo Clark:

No worries the report continues and more good stuff to come yet.
