Yes to Grey Dagger - Acronicta psi - it's the only way to tell a Grey from a Dark is in cat. form as they are very different in the larval stage unless you are into investigation moth genitalia

Remember that 'det.gen.' remark well Caroline ... not something I was willing to partake in! Yuk! & cruel IMO!

I totally agree with you Wendy - I always record anything that requires 'det.gen' as an aggregate

The Acre seems to have taken ages this year for the leaves to turn red:

There's a large oak here with nearly total green leaves (minimal loss of leaf so far). A bit of a worry when gales start arriving. The year before last a fairly substantial limb was half-taken off (with commensurate damage to surrounding bark). It takes at least two people to hug its main trunk.

A lot of trees around us also still looking a very unseasonal green....
