nothing beats spending time with a flamingo
The black backed gull stared at the flamingo for a long time but the second I took a photo it moved its head and looked through the window it’s still quiet funny standing next to the flamingo though

Very nice, Zo; gulls and rainbow all in one. Nicely framed.
I have a few from Tuesday's stomp around Moor Green Lakes. Hard not to miss gulls. The place is teeming with them. I was photographing along the length of Tern island, looking for a Mediterranean gull. My gull identification skills are worse than my warbler/Chiffchaff id skills, so I was going to look at my shots on a computer when I got home. I got distracted by a gull landing on Tern island. It was only when I got home did I realise it was carrying nesting material.
It took its time landing.
I'm quite surprised it made it down with nesting material. The gulls are always squabbling. I expected another gull to make a grab for the nesting material, and a fight ensue.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
