House Sparrows calling this evening

I don’t usually get house Sparrows in the garden and I Don’t usually see or hear them unless I go to the hedgerows, Stream or the Orchard but at 8:52 this evening they decided to turn up. They wernt together but had spread out on there own one sparrow would go in one direction and the other individual would go in a different direction. And there was lots of frantic calling and flying. so I’m guessing they were covering more ground to heighten there chances of finding food during the dry weather. They were completely alert looking around with there heads but staying up High. none of them landed in the garden before the Woodpigeon arived.
