I thought it would be interesting to share photos of Caterpillars if we have any and if we see any this year
if I see any I will add mine to the Forum aswell. Your welcome to send your photos if you have seen any
A brilliant idea for a thread Zo.
Sadly I don't see many caterpillars, but I've now bookmarked the thread ready.

In reply to Mike B:
While watering the garden last night, there was this wee little fella on the lavender, which has only just come in to bud, so the caterpillar was very small, probably 15mm max in length.
I did snatch my wifes phone to grab a photo, and then go and get my big camera out. in the two minutes it took to get the big camera out, the caterpillar had gone, most likely someones lunch, but not mine....
So not very good photos, but good to see nonetheless.
If it had dark spots on it, I'd be tempted to think it was a cinnabar moth caterpillar, and good old Google came up trumps when I uploaded the image, and said, LAVENER!
Oh well, you win some and lose some....
A photo of a Knot Grass Moth caterpillar. Thank you to Internetman for the identification. :-)
Found this one on a Nettle leaf. Not sure of the species. Small Tortoiseshell?
