I saw some damselfly’s last year and sometimes get them locally out and about I thought I’d do a Dragonfly and damselfly thread If I get any il add them but you can add them aswell

According to my 'Bumper Book of Bugs' - AKA Collins Complete Guide to British Insects, which contains loads of insects, apart from the one you are looking for! you are correct with your identification of the Azure Blue Damselfly. I love the Large Reds, which are supposed to be quite common, but I have only ever seen a few around our way, and only 3 Damselflies at all as yet this year. It may be a bit cold yet up north.

I'm having withdrawal symptoms of no bandeds, with HS2 construction making a drive to to one reserve that is always teeming with banded damselflies, a chore with diversions.
Had enough with Phase 1, now I've got Phase 2 to contend with.
