Had a stroll along one of our local (Peak District) rivers this morning - a bit dull for photography - but was rewarded with quite close encounters with some lovely birds.
The highlight was watching the dipper fishing for caddis fly larvae and bashing them out of their casts on the tree branches - didn't seem at all bothered I was watching it...
Could be Mike, after working on local water for years anything in the rivers is possible We spend at least a couple of hours once a week by the rivers and just realised we still have not seen Kingfisher this year yet. Still a few weeks to go yet time for a concerted effort
Nice photos Mike.
Dippers seem quite prolific on the Derbyshire and South Yorkshire waters.
