Been photgraphing goldfinches recently, they've been visiting my garden and I realised in the evenings they go back down the field to roost so I followed them and there's a whole little colony of them and other sorts of finches, like green and chaffinches.

I have actually seen them with the finches too! Here's a pic, so nice to see them doing well out in the wild as they should be, lots of thistle and wildflowers out there for them to munch the seeds of this time of year.
And greenfinches are often nearby.
