The moon, not an easy subject to photograph.
However, during last years thread; Tonight's Moon 2019; share your photos here, there were some very good photos taken and shared, so to continue the theme, I've started the 2020 thread.

Earlier tonight, the cloud was for once particularly thin, allowing the evening moon to shine through for me to grab a photo.
The full moon, which is around 10th January, and known as the Wolf Moon, the name given to the first full moon of the year, mainly because wolves are supposed to howl more with it being the mating season. Incidentally, foxes tend to be more vocal December to January, for the same reason, so I'm inclined to believe the same for wolves.

Thank you, and you're welcome.
I did use a tripod and remote release, even though the shutter speed was 1/500 sec, oh, and the big 150-600 lens, so it was with assistance.
As I was passing this forum.
View from Wokingham, just as it popped over tree line. Shots were hand held (well propped on a wobbly flat screen monitor) as I was in the middle of cooking and didn't have time to find and set up tripod. Wobbly bits to moon are caused by heat haze i.e. hot air coming of radiator.
Bits of cloud added a touch of interest. Though I was waiting for a boy on a bicycle to fly across the moon.
In retrospect I should have made the effort and set up my tripod especially as I can trigger my camera from my laptop. However, burnt dinner would not have been appreciated by other half or sprog.
90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
This morning's moon at 07:20... missed the "big" one coz was away
And this morning's
Lovely photos Peak Rambler, I need a bigger telephoto!
But, I was lucky enough enough to be in the alps for the Wolf moon, luckily didn't see any Wolves waiting in the cold for the moon to appear!
