Hello, I have a question about wildlife photography. I would like a camera, with lens, to be able take good photos of birds and other wildlife and my budget is around £300. Do you have any recommendations?
Hi Clara.
I'm a Canon man myself and started with a bridge camera - Canon PowerShot SX60.
The numbers don't really make sense because it actually has a 65 x optical zoom.
I found this camera to be excellent and can be purchased new for around £350, worth looking for used also if budget won't reach.
Good luck.
Hiya, thanks for the suggestion :) Canon seems to be a good option, I'll have a look.
Only just caught up with this thread, I apologise for my tardiness, blame the time of year :-)
As the guys have mentioned, the budget suggests a bridge camera (it's a bit light for DSLR, though there would be options if you're keen to go that way). There was a thread a few months ago where various suggestions and pictures were being bandied about, may be worth a look

There's also a bit of a long running series of photo related threads discussing the tools & techniques useful for people looking to get off the basic auto settings which may be an interesting read for you - there's an index to make it easier to find the various threads...

If you have some specific ideas about the sort of wildlife pics you're after, that may change people's suggestions - eg should you want to take a lot of birds in flight images, or lots of bugs at macro distances. I'm guessing that it's more a case of a little bit of everything for now at least, so a bridge may well be a good starting point to cover all your bases
Thanks for getting back to me, I'll have a look at the threads :)
