Just flagging this up in case anyone is thinking of purchasing the Canon EF 300mm f2.8L IS II USM lens as I've see an ex display one, as new, which, if I read it right, is £4,799.00 (but with an extra £400 off at midnight making it £4,399.00 - It did say everything in store (pro rata discount depending on what you spend) so one would think including display models.) I think a great price if you want this top of the range lens.
Got more details and code for the extra discount if anyone is interested. Only one as it is ex-display so not sure it will be around too long after midnight !
Must say that the 1DX did feel very comfortable in the hand even with the chunky grip when I had a go with the 1DXmkii and was surprised when I read the weight of it as it didn't feel any different as you say to the cameras we have. One thing for sure is I couldn't go above the 300mm weight of lens attached to the camera body as my elbows won't take it without more tennis elbow problems so I am restricted to what I can use - even with the harness ! As you say Bob, the colours you get from these top cameras is outstanding and the fact they work very well with converters with less noise. It's nice being able to whack up the ISO and still retain good quality images. Have fun with the 1DX and I'll go check on your Osprey photos now.
