Hello everyone. I haven't posted before but felt I had to tell everyone that I have just seen a Redwing in my garden. It's the first time I have ever seen one. Unfortunately, my camera battery was flat and I couldn't take a picture. The camera is now on charge and hopefully, he/she will come back.
Good luck with the photo! and Hello. Its always great to get a new bird in your garden. The Redwings up here tend to avoid getting their picture taken.
John :-)
For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
Welcome to the forum Lesley! Good for you! Redwings are such beautiful birds!! Look forward to a picture! :-)

Hello Lesley and welcome to the forum. Like you I saw my first two redwings a few weeks back. I photographed first and i.d.-d after as although I couldn't see the red with the naked eye (they were some distance from me) I was certain they were birds I hadn't seen before.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Thanks John. The camera is now charged and have just tried to take a photograph. Not very cooperative! A Fieldfare has just appeared too.
Hi Lesley, and welcome from me.
Keep trying with the camera! A redwing and a fieldfare .. they must have made your day. Congratulations. I've never had either in my garden.
Cheers, Linda.

Hello Lesley, I wish we had a redwing and fieldfare in our garden. Good luck with the camera.
Thank you everyone and hello to you all. It did make my day and I'm driving my hubby mad. he's trying to work and I keep dragging him to the kitchen window to watch them. I am not exactly David Bailey, but I am trying (or so my hubby says) to get the pics.

Hi Lesley
Welcome from me too. Once you start posting you'll find it quite addictive.
Here's a pic of Redwings demolishing the berries on my Pyracantha just to give you encouragement.
Of course, once they had stripped it they have disappeared. Ungrateful so and so's!
Good luck
Tony
