Has anyone seen any yet? I often see flocks of them flying over our rural office in the autumn / winter but not spotted any yet!
Can't wait for them to arrive in Shropshire! Determined to get decents pics of them this year!!

I do not stay too far away from Cambridge and must make a point of visiting the reserves in that area at a point of time.
Great all round information and it is goos to hear al about it.

They’ve just arrived here. I was sitting having coffee and a flock of 200+ landed in the trees lining the orchard. I leave the windfalls for them, when they arrive it takes them a couple of days to clear a good few hundred apples. Picking up windfalls is back breaking work so when nature does it for me it’s just fantastic (and fabulous to watch).
Build it and they will come.

They're really spreading through the country now, I think there has been another influx, reports of several large flocks hitting the East coast last weekend and in the early part of this week.

I have net seen any Redwings, Fieldfares or Thrushes in my own area this year so far.
On the A14 road in the way to Bury St Edmunds on Saturday morning I saw a farm field full of Thrushes of all types while I was in the car (passenger of course)
So it looks although they are around as people have already pointed out
Here in my bit of Shropshire they have appeared in much larger numbers over the past two or three days as have the starlings - it is now getting colder, darker and murkier so guess they are coming into the woods that surround us to get an easy meal! From January onwards last year they fed on the fields where we walk each morning and we were able to watch them at close quarters which was great.

This morning I spent half an hour watching a flock of about 30 - 40 fieldfares on my crab apple tree here in Dorset.I have only ever seen 1 or occasionally 2 of them here before but obviously word has got around the fieldfare community ( maybe by 'Twitter' ?!) .

Ive just joined - to say that....
There are loads of Feildfares around here - Lee 0n solent - Hants - a flock of about 30 the other day - two of which seem to have taken up residence in out mock cherry tree which has lots of berries left - at the moment- and theyre chasing off all others including the resident blackbirds who are quite upset!
And large numbers in Gosport nearby - which is quite built up!
I am expecting a mass invasion of our tree sometime - which happened a few years ago when they strippped it...
