Migration? Kinda...

  • Do you two realise that is how conversations work? They flow from one subject to another otherwise they get very stale very quickly. A bit like bread. I am not interested in swans and do not profess to be some sort of expert on them, I just like to feed the ones local to me as it makes me feel good doing it, as did spending several hours yesterday cleaning up where they live.

ItisaRobbo asked me a question and I answered it for him to the best of my ability, something I will always do. That is not an indication of a fake person with an agenda but of one with many more interests than just reading about or looking at birds. The whole point of the swerve in the conversation was that bread is not heathy for us to eat so you definitely shouldn't be feeding it to birds. If that flew over your heads (pun intended) then I'd appreciate you keeping your fallacies regarding my intentions and/or character to yourselves. Thank you.

Apologies, I probably didn't word it quite correctly. Anyway, we better be quiet now or the forum police will be slappimg our wrists...

Sorry if the thread unraveled a bit, Simon. I've clearly missed what had been written and deleted/edited. Re bread, I do want to make the point again though, there is a huge range of bread. I don't agree with you that "bread is not healthy for us to eat" as there is no evidence to support that. Yes, much of it contains added folic acid and other stuff, but that is easily all avoided. Just need to shop around to get 'old fashioned' bread, which unless I missed the science, is a good element as part of an all round diet.
  • Mass produced white bread then ;-)

for me I don’t think you have a fake profile or anything. I didn’t even know what the person was on about hence asking. And I don’t think anyone should of said you do and I havnt deleated any of my comments so you don’t have to worry about that. I’m just curious about which duck and swan food your on about weather its the floating one or ground one. And curious about if you seen any interesting behaviours with the swans you visit

  • Well said Zo and Robbo

Now I will count to 10 before saying things off the cuff so to speak   Now it is time if change of tact and keep my powder dry.

  • Hi all - this conversation has been brought to our attention. It seems as though you have all resolved things amongst yourselves, which is great. But for future reference, please try to keep discussions on the RSPB Community Forum centred around birds and wildlife.

If you'd like a reminder of what kinds of content and discussions are permitted on this forum, you can take a look at the 'Content Standards' section of our RSPB Community Forum Terms and Conditions.

    Happy forum-ing!

  • Thank you Admin

thats good. That would be the best thing to do next time. everyone is different even though we are similar and everyone makes mistakes but that’s how we learn if we didn’t make mistakes we would never learn.  The conversation went off topic before people like you or me saw it. It  had gone off track and didn’t have to do with Wildlife. The conversation shouldn’t really of gone off track from Wildlife on the Bird forum  on here anyway. Life is all about learning. And no ones perfect. People never stop learning no matter what there age or anything else. That’s not just things like this but even in birding and wildlife watching people can make mistakes regardless of how much anyone knows about it which means it doesn’t matter weather anyone is an exspert on birds or Wildlife either. I think mistakes can actually help you learn and become even better no matter how much you know or how good you are.  There’s a saying learn from your mistakes rather than stress about or dwell on them. Its time to move on from the conversation that went off topic on this thread earlyer now besides I don’t knkw how the topic managed to get off track from Wildlife to be honest and if it didn’t get off track there wouldn’t of been any need to try to get it back on track in the first place but that’s just the way it is but now we are back on track. I see the occasional swan when I’m at Gloucester and Sharpness Canal near the Gloucester docks but further down the canal around quedgeley I see the swans more often. And They used to nest there but a Wildlife photographer that had been visiting to see them said they are nesting further down the canal now. They are very tame and used to people
