Just wondered it anyone had noticed a "fall" of incoming Thrushes in recent days. This morning there were about 24 male Blackbirds in the grounds around our flats where normally we only see 2 or 3.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
My goodness S, that time of year already? Looking forward to seeing them back here but I had a long wait last year but I do have a fair supply of Pyracantha & Cotoneaster berries ready for them!

Not yet Seaman, we had about 12 in the garden a few years ago, not so many at all last year but the weather wasn't as cold if I remember correctly. Seems a little early as Wendy thought, though I suppose it will be Oct very soon.
Lot to learn
Only 3 here, mainly starlings having their "rear up" in the morning & evening. Enjoyed watching the young ones grow.

Have just had my first visitor in the garden pecking around in the seed fall from Sunflower hearts feeder ... great to see!
More starlings with us, the numbers have increased greatly over the last couple of weeks. The Black-headed Gulls are starting to congregate on the playing fields behind the house at dawn, but still short of the several hundred that we get in the winter.
"Let loose the Kraken!"
Not seen any increase in Blackbird numbers here in Berkshire. Only one or two around the garden. Curiously, all the Starlings have now disappeared completely. They must have gone to Stuart's.
