Just glanced out of my study window to see the first Swift this year blatting past. Happy now :-)
"Let loose the Kraken!"
Lucky you Stuart, I've seen a few swallows but not a swift in sight, maybe later on.
Lot to learn

Best not to concentrate too hard on birds while driving ;-)

Sage advice SV but I do take great care with my motorised birdwatching ... fortunately it's mostly on quiet country roads!!
We had an interesting experience on Crete. Driving along one of the nice coastal roads in the south (the sort with the 1000ft drop on one side) a Griffon Vulture appeared right in front of us - coming up over the cliff on a hairpin bend. I think it was hoping it would distract us into driving straight over the edge!
Hairy, scary SV, glad it wasn't me ... I can only fall about a foot into a lovely ploughed field!!
