I recently travelled to Norway, and found there is a healthy population of Capercailie in Norway. See picture (credits to Hurtigruten). Are or could translocations from the Nordic countries help population growth and genetics in Scotland?

That's great, thanks Ian!!
Relocations can only work if there is sufficient suitable, available habitat, and the causes of breeding failures and high mortality rates are addressed prior to relocations.
