taken with new camera not sure what they are i think the first maybe a pipit of some kind ?thank you

I think you're first bird could be a meadow pipit, you're second bird I'm going to take a guess at a crested pochard lol

Hi newsioux welcome to the forum. 
 The first photo appears to be a Skylark, and as cds has identified the second photo. I would agree it is a female Red- Crested Pochard.

I see no Lark only Pipit. The glare in the photo is misleading, perhaps. Go back to the start Susan is right. 
 Pipits are often found at the fresh water outlets at the shore.

I would agree it's a meadow pipit. The bill is too long and fine
for a skylark. Also skylarks (as Buzzard's excellent photos show)
usually show a bulky-bodied and small-headed look, and even when the
crest is not raised you can see the slight 'overhang' at the nape. Habitat is not a problem. 
 Agree with female RCP for the duck.
