Went for a wander at lunch time today! Are these skylarks? They look like it as they have prominent little crests! It's only recently that I discovered that they are here in the winter too so not used to seeing them this time of year!!

Hi MarJus, I haven't the foggiest idea as it's years since I saw a skylark but I do hope they are as apparently they are somewhat rare these days. They are super photos so someone who can remember what they look like will surely let you know before long.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

I would say Skylarks. They seem to have that characteristic crest. Not often you see them so clearly on the ground
