Took this in May 2006 near Talisker Bay on the Isle of Skye; initially thought it may be a snow bunting... but after another thread on here about a snow bunting which turned out to be a chaffinch with albinism, I had another look and now don't think that it is! I wondered about twite (Highland McHale's bathtime thread reminded me of it) and I did also wonder about a female linnet. The pic isn't all that clear alas as it was with my old digi camera with a less powerful zoom... Any ideas please? It had a very white 'tummy' hence my snow bunting idea to start with!! Lol!
Thanks!!

I think you could be right with twite.
Talisker Bay......................Did you visit the distillery? A rather fine single malt I may add.

Thanks ND!
As for the distillery, briefly, in fact, very briefly, to get a bottle as a gift for my parents, but I am teetotal, don't like the taste neither the smell of alcohol, so I breathed as little as possible whilst making my purchase!! Lol!!
It looks very much like Twite, but then I'm the twit who has already needed help on one just like it! :-)

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.
hi MarJus
Fabulous shot and a super picture.
Like everyone has said here... it looks Twite like to me,
Do not worry John.....
We are all learning from one and another here - that is what is good about this particular forum

Lol John! I'm the bigger twit for thinking it was a snow bunting initially!
Thanks all! Twite it is!! :-)
I've got to confess Marjus, my knee-jerk diagnosis was Snow Bunting in "off season" plumage too. Not really enough white though so looks good for Twite.
Every day a little more irate about bird of prey persecution, and I have a cat - Got a problem with that?
Sorry to digress...just back from an evening out and I have a glass of...Talisker in front of me...
