Hi, Quite new to birdwatching. I came across this little bird on my dog walk the other day, in Bedfordshire.
I was thinking a Chiffchaff, but not sure.
The picture isn't perfect, as it was only my phone, but if anyone has an idea??
Thanks
As "Stealthybutnotthatstealthy" says and your video clip it is confirmed as a Chiffchaff singing its name of Chiff-chaff-chiff-chaff. !!!!

Hey, my first thought was chiff chaff or willow warbler. Its hard to gauge size . Im going WW. Whatever, whatever, it, like, almost all the other wild birds around at the moment, is, is beautiful
Willow Warbler. Just my opinion. Whatever, whatever, it is beautiful, as are all wild birds are, at least aesthetically. Many/Most, (Not All *my oersonal opinion*) inc this one also have beauty shining from inside.
If you listen to the song posted by Adam it's unmistakebly a chiff chaff.
Yes, agree Chiffchaff by song and wing length would be a tad longer on WW.
Chris Gallagher Yes indeed. ChiffChaff who loves their name so much, they sing it, sing it, & sing it again.
Loads of both, esp chiffchaffs, about now. Even had a singing willow warbler in the garden yesterday, which is unusual for here. Normally only late Summer visitors here. The song recording could well not be the same individual as the photo. However, either way, it is one or other.
Reed Bunting for me. You can see the moustachial stripe, and a lack of supercilium stripe. Also, the chest is quite streaky. Female Reed Bunting.
No. The photo isn't great and the light is misleading. It isn't a bunting though. Look at the bill.
Definitely not a bunting, but the apparent streaking on the chest is a concern. Also the darkness of the head, even given the poor quality of the photo. Agree it's a warbler, but could be anything at this time of year.
