I’m unsure what this bird is. I thought either hawfinch or crossbill. Spotted in the Cairngorms, Scotland. It was rather large for a finch with a big bill and was with one other, perhaps a mate. It was on a branch then few down to feed on the ground. I realise hawfinches are rare especially in Scotland, and I’m pretty sure I also saw a flock of crossbills today up in the pine trees, but I’m still undecided what this is! Sorry for the poor quality and lighting. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
