Juvenile Starlings have confused many a birder - it's all a learning process.
The thing with birding is - a person may get things wrong but as they learn more the less they get wrong.
If you look at the 'experts' on some of the more 'notorious' birding forums, you'll notice that these experts will argue with each other about bird identifications - and they're supposed to know 'everything'
