Hi there, do you know what bird this is please?
It keeps hovering near our windows and patio door and tapping on the glass. It's been constant for last 2 days lol... Started off as cute now a bit annoying, but also don't want it to hurt itself.
I've put foil on the handles, hoping the reflection would prevent it, but nope bird keeps visiting. Any tips please? I'm assuming it thinks the reflection is another bird?
Need to stop the reflection with some paper on the glass or something as it thinks it's a rival its seeing in your glass
Post edit: it's a lovely long tailed tit ;-)
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)

Definitely a long tailed tit. A lot of birds tap on doors and windows at this time of year. I think they are feasting on teeny baby insects and spiders or their eggs when I have seen this behaviour. Though at my dad’s house they tap on the windows to let him know that the bird feeders are empty and need refilling, and they keep tapping until they are refilled… clever birds!

Some blackbirds and robins do the clever bits referred to. Most other species are highly unlikely to. At this time of year, the primary reason for tapping at windows is reflections. The insect feeding around windows,in my experience, is when more insects are about, and when more juvenile birds are about, in Summer.
