Buzzard?

I would have said a female sparrowhawk by the colour and the mark by the eye.
Do you only usually see the bluey-grey bird, which is the male?

It's just I thought it was too chunky for a sparrowhawk. The ones I've seen here before have been much skinnier

Your bird does look chunky as you've said.
I have found several birds now that never quite look as they are in a book or online, and like yourself i've asked here for identification.
I am sure others will be looking at your post soon.
