Identify this I assume this is a common buzzard that I often see in farmland on my daily walk in Cheshire- am I correct and how would I know if it is a male or female please. Thank you!

Yes indeed, it's a Common Buzzard, Caroline. Males and females look alike I'm afraid. Good to see one up close.

Vey difficult to tell in the field but the female is larger when seen side by side
