    I had another sighting of Goldfinches on yesterday's walk.

    I realised that while they were around along my entire route during summer / autumn, they were always most numerous in the moorland/grazing areas, with only small numbers around in the woods. My winter sightings have all been in woodland, suggesting that perhaps they have moved to the more sheltered areas. I'm sure I would, if I were a small bird!
