I saw the bird in the attached video clip in my back garden but have no idea what it is. The video (assuming it works as an attachment to this post) is a bit sketchy, but if you play it frame by frame you will see a flash of bright red on the underwing near the beginning of the clip.
Any thoughts on what the bird is would be much appreciated, thank you.
Hi Tim, it looks like an exotic bird of some sort, possibly an escape from a collection.
Quite difficult to make out much detail from your short clip even played slowly. I could be quite wrong but the impression I get from its structure and long tail makes me think of one of the Turaco species from Africa strange as this may sound.
Do you have a longer clip which you could post to YouTube and link it here? You are restricted to very short clips (<4 Mb) posted directly.
