This was taken a couple of months ago in the Peak District. The first thing that struck me was the lack of colour for something which otherwise resembled a woodpecker. I then noticed that its upper breast is black where a woodpecker's breast is completely white. I've looked at other birds but can't find anything like it. Can anybody show me what I'm missing?
