another singing warbler ?

Hello, many thanks for any help with this recording (warbler ?)
Regards
Jon

TJ - thanks for your previous advice about the amazingly wonderful Audacity with which I've edited this recording

  • Hi Jon, glad you found Audacity useful. It's a surprisingly powerful program for a free one.
Your warbler is one of two - Garden Warbler or Blackcap. I would favour the former from the way the song races along but I do find it tricky to distinguish between the two sometimes.
You might want to wait for further opinions.
  • Hi Tony, many thanks for that - I went back this morning and couldn't find the same bird but did get a clear view (with bins) of a Blackcap and captured the recording below

This does sound different and indeed looks quite different with Audacity's Spectrogram view - more structured, longer gaps, most phrases ending with a flourish (dee diddle dee)

    Regards

    Jon
