I'm not an expert Ctr but my guess would be Red-crested Pochard, however wait for more knowledgeable replies with more detailed information.
Hi Ctr88 I would say they are Red-crested Pochard. The first one looks like an adult male still in eclipse plumage. The second is either a juvenile or a female - not quite sure. It's hard to know whether they are truly wild birds (generally regarded as vagrants) because they have been introduced in certain areas - notably the Cotswolds. Where did you see them?

Their In Staffordshire, I visit the lake where they are often and it’s the first time I have spotted them.
