Yes it's what's often referred to as a "manky" mallard, interbreeding with some other species of duck . The web link below gives examples of interbred mallards.

Yup - another cross-bred Mallard! Mallard Drakes just can't keep themselves to themselves!

As I understand it most so called Manky Mallards are the result of selective breeding from the original wild Mallard rather than from hybridisation with another species. Of course there's always the exception to the rule.
