I found it, this morning, sleeping on the edge of a plant propagator tucked away in the greenhouse. I was going to start some purple sprouting broccoli off, but will delay this until tomorrow.
Propagator and moth are tucked away in a safe place on the floor of the greenhouse. Hopefully it will fly off tonight, so I can resume planting tomorrow.
Impressive specimen Angus, I had one a few days ago which I posted on our 'Mostly Moths' thread ...
Old Lady (Mormo maura)
Brilliant! I looked it up. Found locally, but common in places. Must be the large ponds near us that have attracted it.I found another interesting species, this morning. Couldn't do anything about it (apart from shoo it off) as it was on the piece of garden furniture I was varnishing. The mormo maura had flown from the propagator after a couple of days, so I was able to carry on with my seed planting.
