We've had a solitary chiffchaff visit our garden almost every day for about a year now. He's been here all through the winter, and in the last week he was spent at least 10 hours a day in our silver birches. He wasn't vocal during the winter but he's chiffing his heart out now. If he's looking for a mate I hope he finds one, poor little chap!
I'm a wanderer.
This is him.
Aww how lovely, am still waiting for mine to return to the garden

That's so sweet! It’s amazing how attached we can get to our little visitors. Sounds like he’s staked out his territory and is singing for love now—fingers crossed he attracts a mate soon! Your garden must be a perfect haven for him. Keep us posted on any chiffchaff romance developments—nature’s drama right in your backyard! How lucky you are, I have never seen one
How lovely to have a chiffchaff in your garden so fingers crossed the singing will attract a mate as lots of chiffchaffs are arriving now and our local woodland areas are full of singing chiffchaffs along with blackcaps and hopefully a willow warbler or two ! Lovely photo.
